BIOGRAPHY: Jon Garcia is a genre jumping Folk Rocker who resides in beautiful Portland, Oregon.
He is often compared to artists such as David Garza and Tim Buckley.
Garcia's 2006 debut was a self titled release best described as a portfolio of projected good things to come.
His sophomore album, The Lake, is a focused collection of beautifully composed songs
completed over the course of three and a half years. The record was produced by long time recording
guru Robert Bartleson whose resume includes Wilco, and Jeff Hansonand. Mikael Naramore of
Terrestial Records also worked on the album. An array of noted Portland musicians and friends
performed on The Lake. The arrangements of the songs are refreshingly versatile; violins and harps
create flowing, lovely instrumentation on one track, followed by a more fleshed out four-piece rock band
approach on the next. Additionally, Garcia's vocal performance throughout the record ably showcases his
impressive range, while delivering thought proving lyrics. Set for release in early spring, The Lake,
is a more than notable follow up to his self-titled debut.
With a new CD and a movie on the way, Jon Garcia will be heading out on a national and UK tour
this summer to promote both bodies of work.

"In all honesty this is a record of pure magic, a sudden trip down a rabbit hole to the progressive seventies with a whisper of fairytale." --AmericanaUK
"Diving into this lake is an exhilarating experience. There are deep waters and strange currents that pull the listener under the surface, almost drowning but certainly enveloped in an almost dream like aquamarine state of mind (if such a things exists). This is baroque pop with horns, woodwind and strings decorating a very strong set of songs that are melodic in the extreme as Garcia's handsome vocals dominate proceedings." --Blabber and Smoke U
